This two-story, 20,000 SFmid 1960’s concrete dining hall at UMass Amherst was in need of a major renovation. A limited budget required innovative ideas to maximize impact while celebrating the buildings architectural character. The hall is now a dynamic destination point, both for food and engaging socialization, within a design that enhances and respects the original Brutalist concrete language.
