An historic wood frame house in Boston’s South End has been expanded into a modernist masterpiece. All but the façade of the original home was demolished, with a new industrial home created with raw materials such as steel, glass, unpainted wood and exposed concrete. The original home massing is now coupled with a contemporary wood structure, elegantly formed together with a connector that functions to both celebrate the new with the historic as well as provide circulation and light.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
LED lighting was used in the majority of the home.
