The Patten District Development

Newton, MA

SFIL provided lighting design for the Newton Northland Master Plan, helping shape the vision for the transformation of a vacant industrial complex into a vibrant 23-acre mixed-use neighborhood. Building on that foundation, we are now providing comprehensive interior and exterior lighting design for the innovative Pattern District, creating a cohesive, sustainable, and welcoming environment throughout its buildings, streetscapes, and public spaces.

The development encompasses approximately 1.7 million square feet across 10 buildings, featuring more than 800 residences, 100,000 square feet of residential amenities and retail space, and 12 acres of parks and open space. Highlights include a central Village Green, an interconnected network of pedestrian and bicycle paths, and a variety of thoughtfully designed community gathering spaces that foster connectivity and enhance the overall experience.
