FORUM at 60 Guest Street

Boston, MA

This 350,000 SF, 9-story life sciences building was constructed to meet the growing demand for laboratory, research, and collaborative workplaces in the Boston area. Prominently visible from the Mass Pike, this property occupies a highly competitive urban context between the Boston Celtics’ Auerbach Center and the Boston Bruins’ Warrior Ice Arena. SFIL provided lighting design for the core and shell of the project including all interior amenity spaces. The lighting approach establishes a distinct identity within this energetic corridor while remaining visually comfortable, environmentally responsible, and respectful of adjacent residential neighborhoods. Outdoor seating, illuminated benches, and integrated landscape lighting further reinforce the building’s role as a community amenity.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

Exterior lighting controls were carefully zoned to balance energy efficiency, safety, and visual hierarchy. This project supports LEED Platinum, WiredScore Platinum, Fitwel certification, and net-zero operational goals, exceeding baseline energy performance through efficient luminaires, precise optics, and thoughtful integration across building systems.
