Christian Science, The Mother Church Reading Room

Boston, MA

"Similar to a library or bookstore, a Reading Room offers a place to read, pray, and get inspired. It’s a space where many have been healed by studying the lessons of the Bible and nurturing a connection with God." - Christian Science Monitor

Located in Boston's Back Bay, the redesigned and reimagined Mother Church Reading Room now serves as a welcoming entrance for the Christian Science Plaza across from the iconic First Church of Christ, Scientist. New storefront uplighting and illuminated signage establish the Reading Room's street presence while the interior design creates an oasis for patrons and visitors. The 3,250 SF space includes a welcome area with ring-shaped fixtures suspended over tables and lounge areas inviting visitors to relax and read; open retail, custom millwork casework with integrated lighting, event/meeting space, team rooms, a children's area featuring a "starry night" coffered ceiling with crystal trims, as well as peaceful nooks for prayer, reading, and contemplation.
