This one-story library was designed to be a civic beacon and create an architectural statement, while seamlessly fitting into its surrounding residential neighborhood. The entire interior features linear luminaries integrated into the ceiling’s vertical baffles, creating a dynamic statement, and reinforcing the architectural design. An important component to the community was to preserve the north corner, including an historic oak tree. Exterior lighting on pathways and the iconic tree have created a space for public reading, gathering and events.
LED and energy efficient fixtures contributed to this project’s LEED certification scorecard. This project was designed to achieve a minimum of LEED Silver.
